World Class Championship Wrestling Withdraws from the NWA

Jack Adkisson’s Dallas-based World Class Championship Wrestling promotion officially withdraws from the National Wrestling Alliance and it is announced that reigning NWA American Heavyweight champion “Ravishing” Rick Rude is recognized as the inaugural World Class Wrestling Association (WCWA.) World Heavyweight champion.
