Tom Jenkins Wins the American Title

Tom Jenkins defeats Dan McLeod to win the American title in Cleveland, Ohio. Both men had previously defeated Farmer Burns and were thus claiming to be the American champion. They had previously wrestled to no decision, so this match. McLeod won the first fall via pinfall in thirty six minutes. Jenkins then won the second fall in twenty two minutes and the third fall in nineteen minutes.

 

 

was much anticipated. After their first match was deemed a no-decision, they met again in Cleveland, Ohio on November 7, 1901. After 41 minutes, Jenkins won two straight falls and finally was able to claim the title of “Undisputed Champion of the United States.”
