Survivor Series ’01 takes place, with match stipulations designed to unify championships and end the WCW/ECW “invasion” angle. Team WWF (The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane and The Big Show) defeated The Alliance (Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Rob Van Dam and Shane McMahon) in a “Winner Take All” Survivor Series match. Meanwhile, WCW US champion Edge defeated WWF Intercontinental champion Test and WCW Tag Team champions The Dudley Boyz defeated WWF Tag Team titleholders The Hardy Boyz in a steel cage match. Although the WWF’s champions were both defeated, due to Team WWF winning the Survivor Series main event, it was the WCW championships that were retired.
